All the brass in this piece has been made using the Lost Wax Casting method- that is each has been sculpted in bees was first- before the recycled metal is melted and cast in the mold!. I mixed warm red beads (recycled glass and vintage) and vintage white resin with this adorable baby elephant or “calf” pendant as the best times to see animals are at sunrise or sunset.

There is nothing quite magical than an African Safari, every game drive is filled with anticipation and excitement, and always different.  Although many want to see the Big 5 or a hunt, I love encountering the majestic herds of elephants and observing their interactions with one another as there is always a very definite social structure. They are led by a matriarch, usually the oldest female, and are made up of daughters, sisters and their offspring. Male elephants stay with the herd through adolescence and then move away as they grow older.
