This Bhutanese/Tibetan pendant is my absolute favorite and is a rare example of Bhutanese silver-turquoise amulet art, crafted in the 19th or early 20th century. It features finely chased and raised silver work, set with abundant turquoise fragments. Rather than a “cross,” its geometric form is symbolic and functional — a sacred compass or talisman rather than a Christian emblem. With its aged patina and hand-wrought detail, it carries both artistic and spiritual legacy from the Himalayan realm. The condition reflects its age and adds character. It is surrounded by vintage turquoises from the same area.
The story of the Collection: Our North Star: standing for what is right, no matter the storm.
Inspired by the Southern Cross, a celestial compass that for centuries guided travelers through the vast night sky. This collection reminds us that even in darkness, there are lights to steer by. These lights are hope, hope that does not wait passively, but calls us to act with purpose.
In uncertain and challenging times, we must hold steady, trusting our values and leading with both our minds and our hearts. When the path is unclear, integrity and courage remain our true moral compass—our enduring guiding light toward a greener and more just world.
