Antique Berber enamel, recycled metal from Mali
The enamel beads are antique and come in several sizes; the bicones from Mali are made of recycled metal. Together they honour Berber traditions while embracing sustainability: a statement of history, beauty and purpose.
It belongs to Circular by Design, my collection made predominantly from vintage, antique and recycled components, breathing new life into outdated or forgotten jewelry. Its sister piece Teal Oasis also has recycled-metal bicones from Mali.

At 112 grams, this necklace’s reuse of existing materials is estimated to avoid 16.4 kg of CO₂e, roughly the tailpipe emissions of driving 66 kilometres in an average car, and 130 litres of freshwater.
